The firemen riding on this one seem to be painted in a more detailed way than the one offered for sale below. The one offered for sale below has a gold fireman on the back with no detailing. The one shown here was dated 1915. Hubley surely made this item for a number of years. Is the broken one offered for sale below older or newer? Any additional information will be appreciated. More information below the following pictures.
Stock# 2600...1906 (production seems to span 1906-1920 approximately) Hubley horse-drawn fire engine/ unusual team of three horses/ referenced in Long's Dictionary of Toys" on page 41 of Volume 1. This item has some damage, but the damage should be repairable in the right hands. A piece this rare hopefully will be restored. It measures 18 inches and is missing the driver and the hose reel. The fireman on the back remains in place. To my eye this item has not seen hard use. It merely had a bad day...$148.
