Stock# D72...Nobody has this one! Mr. Jim Truitt was a commercial graphic artist in the Detroit area who worked mostly in the automotive industry with various sales promotions. This item is a Motown tie-in with Dodge. This item is a one-of-a-kind original paste-up. It is the original design all pasted into place for production. This item includes three separate pieces. First is the envelope. The back of the envelope is plain but the front side of the envelope is very interesting with a wonderful 70's era collage in the upper left corner. On the lower left it says, "FREE FROM MOTOWN." A mock address label reads, "Joe Senior, Main Street, Anytown, U.S.A."

Second is the enclosed letter dated March 1, 1972. This item repeats the collage on the envelope. The letter reads, "This little 6-1/2 inch record--a Mini Motown disc--is all yours. Free. Yours to do what you want with. But...if you're smart, you'll play it. All the way through. It only takes 5-1/2 minutes. There's some music...from Motown. There's some message...also from Motown. Most important, this Mini Motown record tells you how to get a free, beautiful, 12 inch-- But then, let the record tell you. Go ahead. Play it. It's yours."

Third is the square record. Actually this is not a record since it is the design paste-up only. The front side features the theme collage of the other pieces. It also includes four Motown artists. The only one I know for sure is Michael Jackson at bottom. (Help me here. Who are the three ladies?) At the bottom it reads, " MOTOWN SPECIAL." On the back it features the collage again, "MOTOWN SPECIAL" again and a picture of a Dodge Dart Demon and the words "DART DEMON." In the center are squiggly lines that indicate the place for various reading material which was not quite ready when this piece was completed So there you have it. A true one-of-a-kind artifact.
