in the days when all the new cars came out in the fall, the dealers had
to be ready for the big event--Introduction Day! In order to have the showroom and grounds ready, the dealers had to do their homework way ahead of time. They received an announcement materials package in the summer. They ordered the promotional material that they wanted or could afford and hoped that everything arrived in time for the big introduction day. The offering here is just such an announcement materials loose-leaf format notebook--1973 Dodge Sales Promotion. This item measures 11.5 by 10 inches and contains 74 pages about Announcement Period, Continuing Merchandising, Goodwill Items and Sales and Training Aids. Note: This item was never used as it was sent to Jim Truitt, deceased, who was a graphic designer who probably designed portions of this announcement material. Since most were sent to dealers, they were used. This might be the one and only one of these that was never used. Information is included about dealer promo models. Two regular promos in 1/25th scale were offered: Charger Rallye and Challenger Rallye. An order form for these is included. Also shown is a desk set with pens and plaque with a promo attached. Note: Most items pictured in this book will be from the previous year model as the announcement sets were sent out prior to actual production of the new cars. All the promo items featured cannot possibly be listed but here is a sample: window and showroom display kits, outdoor banners, pylon futuristic displays, product and decor danglers, postcards, color and options displays, promo models and hundreds of additional small items such as ice scrapers, napkins, license plates, puzzle pictures, yardsticks, t-shirts, pens and pen sets, tie-clips and much, much more.
