Mostly Automotive 1973

Stock# AMB73-3...This is from the automotive collection of Jim Truitt, now deceased, who worked in the Detroit area as a graphic artist. Much of the work that he did in the 80's related to auto show layouts including all the accouterments of shows such as display units, etc. He also did auto introduction design work such as banquet table layouts, dinner table accessories etc as well as promotional advertising events. The item shown here is some of his work relating to a giveaway of a 73 AMC Ambassador and is titled "Great American Documents." This was probably a final proof before being sent to the locals who then added their business names to the flyer. The item you are buying is possibly larger than the final printed version. There is a bit of aging/yellowing on this item although the picture was taken without proper light. This item is much whiter than the picture indicates. It measures 19.25 height by 14.75 width. In order to have the showroom and grounds ready, the dealers had to do their homework way ahead of time.

They received an announcement materials package in the summer. They ordered the promotional material that they wanted or could afford and hoped that everything arrived in time for the big introduction day.

The offering here is just such an announcement materials loose-leaf format notebook--1973 Dodge Sales Promotion. This item measures 11.5 by 10 inches and contains 74 pages about Announcement Period, Continuing Merchandising, Goodwill Items and Sales and Training Aids.

Note: Most items pictured in this book will be from the previous year model as the announcement sets were sent out prior to actual production of the new cars.
