Toy Cars

Stock# 2005...1956 Lincoln 2-door hardtop/ red/ tinplate/ friction toy by unknown Japanese manufacturer/ not scaled--measures 7.25 inches in length/ no opening features/ very nice body surfaces/ cute is the best word to describe this one...$85 ($9). (PM)

Stock# 2003...This tin car has features of both 52 and 53 Buicks. It was made by Marusan and measures 8.5 inches in length. It is a four-holer four-door sedan. It has battery operated features which do not work; however the battery box is exceptionally clean. This toy has the appearance of never being played with by children and the paint is around 99% present with good gloss. The roof finish has been slightly damaged by paper sticking to it while in storage. The chrome trim has a gold anodized look with some rub but no rust. This car looks better in natural light than the picture suggests. The wheel covers are the nicest I've seen on any tin toy ever and the car has a neat, artistic charm about it...$295 ($8).

Stock# 7005...1955 (other years represented also) Mercedes Benz Gullwing coupe/ blue/ friction toy measures five inches and made by unknown Japanese manufacturer/ beautiful lithograph wheel covers, separate lights and blacked out grill and separate windshield frame and bumpers/ no child's play/ good quality small toy...$48 ($8).  (p55)

Stock# 2288...1951 Cadillac (more or less) 2-door sedan/ dark blue over light blue/ tin toy friction car by unknown manufacturer/ not sure that the friction mechanism works properly/ this is a very well-made car that measures 10 inches in length and 4.5 in width/ this car has slight handling marks but has never been played with as it has been in an adult collection since new/ I don't think it was made by Marusan but it has that kind of quality/ it is truly an eye-catching car...$225 ($9).

Stock# 7006...1953 Pontillac 2-door hardtop/ blue/ Japanese friction toy made by unknown manufacturer/ measures five inches in length/ windshield wipers move as car rolls along/ windshield frame and rear bumper have light surface rust/ car otherwise clean and new in appearance/ never played with/ resembles a Cadillac in many ways but has roofline of Pontiac and Chevrolet/ neat little car...$28 ($8).

Stock# 7009...1950 Cadillac 2-door hardtop/ red/ battery operated toy stamped metal toy made by Marusan/ measures seven inches in length/ bought new by an adult for his train layout/ slight trim aging/ not sure if electrics work/ battery box is in new condition/ all visual aspects of this car are high quality/ this is one of the most charming toy Cadillacs you will ever see...$175 ($8).

Stock# 436-N...1948 (also 49-55) Military Police 2-door sedan/ military olive green/ plastic friction toy car approximately eight inches in length made by Saunders of Aurora, Illinois/ includes original box (missing 2 of 3 end flaps on one end)/ reference # M225/ obviously never played with by children/ looks a lot like an Oldsmobile/ very nice toy...$98 ($8).
